MOSCITO-5
Specialized paramotor wing for experienced PPG pilots
Moscito-5 is our latest development in the class of specialized paramotor wings. It is a logical continuation of the Moscito-4 model, incorporating all the best features of its predecessor while introducing a number of important improvements.
At the heart of the Moscito-5 is the same reflex wing profile with an Air Scoop intake as used in the previous version. The wing’s planform and arc remain virtually unchanged, but the flight characteristics have improved significantly.
One of the key upgrades is the reduced takeoff and landing speed, as well as lower thrust requirements across all phases of flight. In addition, brake pressure has been significantly reduced — a change that will be especially appreciated by pilots on longer flights.
The leading edge is reinforced with nylon inserts, providing excellent launch characteristics that are preserved throughout the wing’s lifespan. Major changes have been made to the line system: instead of four riser rows, the Moscito-5 now uses only three. Unsheathed lines are now used in the upper levels, replacing the sheathed ones from the previous generation — an upgrade that has positively affected the wing’s aerodynamics.
The Moscito-5 is equipped with additional control lines that act only on the outer portions of the trailing edge. This allows for effective control without sacrificing speed, which is particularly useful when flying with the speed bar engaged.
The risers feature a system that automatically releases the trimmers when the speed bar is activated. In the new version, this system is locked with an oval carabiner, which must be removed to enable it.
All these enhancements make the Moscito-5 much more comfortable to fly in all modes. As expected from a modern paramotor wing, it demonstrates excellent resistance to collapses in turbulent air, allowing for confident high-speed flight even in challenging weather conditions.
The wing is equally well-suited for precision slalom exercises at the airfield and for extended cross-country flights — it’s truly a versatile solution. Choosing the right size is essential: at lower wing loading, the Moscito-5 feels almost like a training wing; at higher loading, it transforms into a racing machine.
While we still do not recommend using the Moscito-5 as a beginner’s wing, it is an excellent choice as a second paraglider.
