DISCOVERY-6
En-B glider. Designed for pilots who has just finished flight lessons and have more than 20 flying hours. Also can be used for powered flights
Middle EN B of the Sixth Generation
For over twenty years, the DiSCovery paraglider series has been bringing joy to pilots around the world. Simple, reliable, and friendly, these intermediate-class wings have become trusted companions for countless enthusiasts, helping their happy owners transition smoothly and comfortably from training flights to soaring, thermaling, and even the joy of cross-country adventures.
In creating the sixth generation of our bestseller, we did everything possible to make the new DiSCovery even better.
High-tech Without Compromise
A modern intermediate paraglider now features more advanced design solutions than the best sports wings of the early 2010s.
he DiSCovery-6 incorporates plastic reinforcements in the leading edge, trailing-edge mini-ribs, unsheathed lines, and much more. This allows us to improve flight performance and reduce the overall weight compared to the DiSCovery-5.
Leading Edge Rods
The DiSCovery-6 features a complex two-rod system in each rib — a necessary measure to support the shape of the new profile with its prominent AirScoop intake.
In addition to the standard rods reinforcing the main and intermediate ribs, we’ve added a thin rod in the center of each cell. This notably improves aerodynamic efficiency during high-speed flight.
Double 3D Shaping Technology
The leading edge is the most critical part of the wing when it comes to aerodynamics. Bulging of the front cells often leads to creases that disrupt airflow.
3D shaping is a well-established technology that minimizes such creases, resulting in a smoother, cleaner surface exactly where it’s needed most. In the DiSCovery-6, we’ve applied double 3D shaping, taking the surface finish to a new level of refinement.
Trailing-Edge Mini-Ribs
The DiSCovery-6 also features mini-ribs along the trailing edge — a now-classic solution. These ribs prevent excessive cell inflation, reducing parasitic drag while adding virtually no extra weight.
Laser Cutting
In 2022, we launched a new laser cutting system that guarantees extreme precision and consistency in the manufacture of every single part.
A New Profile with AirScoop
One of the surprising features of top-class sports paragliders since around 2010 has been their ability to “float in turbulence,” converting rough air into reduced sink or even lift.
At first, this seemed like science fiction — and only the most advanced wings could achieve it. Now, with DiSCovery-6, we make this unique “superpower” available to everyone. The wing’s new profile, with a pronounced AirScoop intake, offers a floating effect comparable to that of high-end competition gliders, all while maintaining the comfort and security of the EN B class.
Attention to Detail
No matter how advanced a wing is, all its benefits are meaningless if it’s uncomfortable to use.
That’s why we’ve done everything to make flying the DiSCovery-6 as enjoyable and stress-free as possible:
- Unsheathed lines in the upper and mid layers reduce drag and simplify launch preparation;
- A new riser design makes accelerator operation smooth and effortless;
- The risers are made of 12 mm Kevlar-reinforced webbing for maximum durability with minimum weight;
- The wing also features a B-C steering system — a link between the B and C-risers for improved pitch control during accelerated flight, allowing the wing to actively respond to turbulence.
Try it for yourself — and discover just how comfortable true performance flying can be.
Certification
Just like its predecessor, the DiSCovery-6 is certified EN B in three sizes: S, M, and L.
Powered Flight
The DiSCovery-6 also performs beautifully under power.
Motor risers with trimmers for speed adjustment are available upon request.
